"On the anniversary of her father's death, a young girl spends the day celebrating his memory (and making sure she retains those memories) with her widowed mother.  Writer/co-director Julie Gould and her daughter play themselves, more or less, in what is nonetheless not a documentary but a beautifully nuanced drama drawn from their real-life circumstances.  '8' won a Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 South by Southwest Festival."
